Damsel Shepherds Hut

Damsel Shepherds Hut is our newest lodge, which we opened in July 2021. It is a delightfully luxurious warm and cosy Poachers Hut, 18ft x 8.5ft, built for us bespoke by the English Shepherds Hut Company who are based locally in Norfolk and make exceptional huts. It differs from our other four lodges - which are Scandinavian log cabins - in that it is smaller, sleeping just two, so it is perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway, or some valuable downtime from daily life. Damsel is beautifully appointed inside, with a snug cabin bed, compact kitchen, separate internal bathroom with copper wash basin and hot shower, a ‘Hobbit’ wood burning stove, and electric heater too. There is a fold-away table with two chairs if dining inside, and a sofa for relaxing, along with a smart TV with inbuilt DVD player. The double glazed windows create a lovely sense of natural light, with stunning views all around. The French style double patio doors open out onto a private wooden deck (18ft x 10ft) complete with hot tub, table and chairs with parasol, and Weber gas BBQ. The private hot tub boasts massage jets, headrests and even has LED lighting. Additionally, there is a barrel sauna right outside for your exclusive use. Damsel is situated on its own area of land between Kingfisher Lake and Mill Pond, hidden way from the other lodges, nestled amongst trees and shrubs. You have your own fishing swim for gentle silverfish angling right next to the Shepherds Hut, and for carp-devotees you are also  welcome to fish in Main Lake which is less than a 5 minute walk away. Alternatively, you may choose to just sit in wonderful seclusion and enjoy the nature that surrounds you. Damsel Shepherds Hut comes with exactly the same level of exceptional service that Badwell Ash Holiday Lodges has become known for: you will find our sumptuous welcome hamper waiting for you on arrival, Champagne in the fridge, hand-made chocs on your pillow, fresh cotton towels and linen, luxury toiletries, slippers, robes and even fleeces to keep warm when outside in the evening.
