We keep up to date with the news here at Badwell Ash Holiday Lodges, so now Trump has more or less conceded the US election we see that talk is turning to what President Elect Biden should do in his first 100 days. Well, we’re not political advisors but we agree that the first few months are crucial in terms of rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in. In case Joe Biden reads our blog and is looking for inspiration (!) here is what we have been up to in our first 100 days:
- welcomed 240 guests and completed 105 hand overs
- prepared over 100 Welcome Hampers including bottles of champagne and hand-made chocs
- supplied 45 home-made Cakes and 30 local butchers BBQ Packs
- given out 30 baskets of plums from our own fruit trees
- pressed 300 bottles of apple juice from our trees (something for you to sample next year!)
- furnished the lodges with 16 pieces of art and furnishings from Voyage Maison
- replaced 275 metres of decking using 1200 screws (the old decking is what you can see burning in the pic!)
- painted the refurbished decks with 50 litres of special non-slip paint
- replaced 4 sets of outdoor furniture, with a new table and 4 chairs with cushions for each lodge
- scraped up and carted away 9 lorry loads of rotten old wood chippings from the tracks on site and resurfaced with 58 tonnes of gravel
- removed 8 dead trees and replanted with 14 oaks, horse chestnuts and laurels
- installed 4 aerators in each of the lakes, and stocked with 30 carp
- started to eradicate the duckweed on Kingfisher Lake and Mill Pond
- put up 12 bird boxes and 8 feeders
But this is not all - we have more improvements planned in the next 100 days too! Come and see us at Badwell Ash!
